The Chiericati family in the fifteenth century used the villa as a summer residence, later it was passed to the Caldogno family and then to the family of the writer Antonio Fogazzaro who made it to be the setting of the novel "Small modern world". The building comes from the seventeenth century but was rebuilt by architect Negrin in 1846, who kept only the bearing walls, creating a building in a neo-Renaissance style. To date a part of the complex is home to the largest collection of bells in Italy called "The Veneto Museum of Bells".
