Villa Dal Verme is one of the rare surviving examples of a noble countryside residence from the fifteenth century in the province of Vicenza. It comes in Venetian Gothic style and dates from the times when the Republic of Venice undertook a massive campaign of reclamation in the Mainland, a sign of an incipient interest in the "Stato da Tera" (State of the Land). The restoration allowed for the subtraction of the swamp in the vast areas between the Berici and the Euganean Hills and enabled Dal Verme to reach Agugliaro by river, and to identify the place to build this architectural jewel shortly after 1450. The villa of the Dal Verme is considered the "mother" of all other Venetian villas. The building, partially asymmetrical, looks like a Venetian palace, presents a beautiful mullioned window and stands at the bank of the Liona river.
